Having your documents ready can prevent delays when you become eligible for a home. Upload them before you apply, so your file is ready when you need it.
You can upload documents under My Documents. Enter your financial information under My Income.
Are you a student?
Make sure you have the following documents ready:
- Your passport or ID
- Proof of enrolment or valid student registration
- Your own proof of income, if you have an income
- Your guarantor's proof of income, if you do not have sufficient personal income
- Your guarantor's passport or ID, if we request it
Always make sure your documents are up to date.
Do you have your own income?
Enter your income under My Income and upload the documents requested in your account.
We use this information to determine which homes match your financial situation.
Are you using a guarantor?
Many students do not have a fixed income yet. You can therefore use a parent, sponsor or another person as your guarantor.
Your guarantor must:
- earn at least €40,000 gross per year;
- have a monthly income of at least three times the monthly base rent.
Enter your guarantor's income under My Income and upload their proof of income under My Documents.
Which proof of income can a guarantor use?
For example:
- recent payslips;
- an annual income statement;
- an employer statement;
- if self-employed: a recent tax statement or accountant's statement.
Even when you use a guarantor, always create your Plaza account in your own name. You are the applicant and potential tenant.
Documents from another country
You do not need to have foreign documents translated especially for Plaza. We accept foreign documents in their original language.
When do we check your documents?
You must upload your documents in advance, so your file is ready when you apply.
We review the contents of your documents when you become the first candidate for a home.
Uploaded therefore does not automatically mean approved.
Before applying, check that:
- all requested documents are available under My Documents;
- your documents are still up to date;
- your income or your guarantor's income is entered correctly under My Income;
- your proof of enrolment is still valid;
- all documents are complete and clearly readable.
This helps prevent your application from being delayed when you are selected for a home.
Everything ready?
Then you are ready to apply.
You can apply for several available homes at the same time. You can follow the current status of your applications under My Reactions.
