Isabella
First impression
Isabella, an international student from Colombia, moved to the Netherlands three years ago. Her first impression of De Lampendriessen was positive. “The atmosphere felt good right away.” She was impressed by the spacious and modern facilities and found her room beautiful and comfortable. “The location close to the university was an important factor in my choice.”
Daily life
A typical day for Isabella starts around 9 AM when she heads to the university. “We usually finish around 5 PM”. After a busy day of classes, she relaxes by walking around the city or doing some shopping. “Sometimes I go with friends, and sometimes I do it alone,” she adds. Isabella also enjoys dining out or going to the cinema with her fellow students.
Contact with fellow residents
Isabella has built a strong bond with her fellow students. “The diversity of people living here makes it easy to connect,” she explains. She always feels welcome, especially because the complex is filled with international students.
Facilities
At De Lampendriessen, there are various communal facilities, such as lounges and study rooms. Isabella uses these occasionally but prefers to study in her own room. “It’s usually more comfortable for me to work here in my room,” she says. She also finds it important to feel safe in the complex. “I have never had a problem, but I know the staff responds quickly if needed.” One of Isabella’s fondest memories of her time in the Netherlands is a bike trip to Belgium with friends. “It was so much fun to ride together and see the surroundings.''
Recommendations for future residents
Isabella recommends that future residents live in De Lampendriessen because of its proximity to the university and easy access to facilities.
If you get the chance, I would absolutely recommend it
